A faintly pale bottle, reminiscent of the legendary "Iyo Usuzumi-zakura" (Pale-ink Cherry Tree of Iyo)
In ancient times, during the Tenpyo era, when Emperor Tenmu stayed at Dogo Onsen, it is said that the Empress's illness was cured through prayers at Saihoji Temple in Ida. Delighted by this, the Emperor dispatched an imperial envoy, and the temple was given a cherry tree along with a letter written in pale ink. This bottle is faintly pale, reminiscent of the legendary "Iyo Usuzumi-zakura," which was celebrated in Iyo-bushi and Iyo Manzai during the Edo period and is now cherished as a Matsuyama City designated natural monument. It is a junmai-shu (sake made only from rice and rice koji) with a light and crisp flavor, pairing wonderfully with Ehime sea bream sashimi.
