A new barley shochu made with "hadaka mugi" (naked barley) from the Chuyo region of Ehime Prefecture.

A new barley shochu, "Dogo Shochu Shinrokaku," has been born, allowing you to fully enjoy the savory aroma, richness, and crispness of "hadaka mugi."

This shochu uses "hadaka mugi" from the Chuyo region of Ehime Prefecture. "Hadaka mugi" from Ehime Prefecture accounts for over 40% of the national production, making it one of the agricultural products for which Ehime Prefecture boasts the highest production in Japan. This ingredient is used generously and luxuriously, and the shochu is brewed using traditional sake-making techniques such as "sake yeast," "yellow koji," "three-stage preparation," and "low-temperature fermentation." This results in a drink where you can fully enjoy the authentic savory aroma and elegant mouthfeel characteristic of barley shochu.

The name "Shinrokaku" comes from the name of the drum tower located at the top of Dogo Onsen Honkan, Japan's oldest famous hot spring, which also appears in the Nihon Shoki (Chronicles of Japan). "Shinrokaku" is derived from the legend of a white heron that visited in ancient times with an injured leg and healed its wounds in the gushing hot spring water. We have adopted this name and dressed it in a rare crimson bottle reminiscent of the vivid and striking "red giyaman" (cut glass) that adorns the Shinrokaku. Please enjoy the deliciousness unique to authentic shochu as a new shochu born in Dogo, the town of hot springs.
