A faintly pale bottle reminiscent of the legendary 'Iyo Usuzumi-zakura' (Iyo Usuzumi Cherry Blossom)
In ancient times, during the Tenpyo era, it is said that when Emperor Tenmu stayed at Dogo Onsen, the Empress's illness was cured by the prayers at Saihoji Temple in Ida. Delighted by this, the Emperor sent an imperial envoy, and the temple is said to have received a cherry tree along with a letter written in usuzumi (pale black ink). This faintly pale bottle is reminiscent of the legendary 'Iyo Usuzumi-zakura,' which was sung about in Iyo-bushi and Iyo-manzai during the Edo period and is now cherished as a Matsuyama City designated natural monument. It is a junmai-shu (sake made only from rice and rice koji). This light and refreshing sake pairs well with Ehime's sea bream sashimi.
